ABOUT ABOUT

Register now to attend The Mediator Mindset: Asking Questions that Promote Understanding, Collaboration and Resolution with Marilee Adams | February 5-6, 2015

The wisest and most successful mediators ask the best questions in the best ways to achieve desired results for their clients and themselves. They use the “mediation mindset” to think and act strategically, creatively and collaboratively. They also empower their clients to intentionally operate from a learning orientation and neutralize a judgmental one so as to achieve win-win outcomes.

In this workshop, attendees will learn:

  • To understand the mediation mindset--how to activate, utilize, and strengthen it
  • Question Thinking (the questions we ask ourselves that drive thinking) in order to promote operating from a learning orientation rather than a judgmental one
  • To utilize a discipline of asking questions, listening, and facilitating that is thoughtful, balanced, and comprehensive—and that fosters dignity, respect, and accountability throughout the process
  • To follow guidelines for facilitating authentic, collaborative conversations that lead to resolution and that transform conversations that could otherwise derail the process or end up in self-righteous “stand offs”
  • To develop the ability to teach clients Question Thinking skills so they can prevent or diminish conflict in their lives and become more successfully collaborative, both personally and professionally.

MCLE credits will be provided by the American Institute of Mediation.
